Baby, you're a firework!

I don't like Katy Perry and I don't like this particular song of hers, but for some reason, I keep singing it in school, at home, when drunk...

Last Saturday, Gab, Paula, and I met at the SM Mall of Asia for the 2nd Philippine International Pyromusical Competition.

We were a little late, so we missed half of Japan's performance, which was too bad. I saw some of it, though. The heart-shaped and smiley-shaped fireworks were so Japan, and I mean that in a good way.

We are very lulzy in those makeshift handkerchief hats. It was raining so hard and we didn't have an umbrella okay!! That was no time to worry that we look really... not nice.

Since I was too in awe of the show to whip out my camphone, I have no pictures. :(

The pyromusical was amazing! The way that the vivid neon colors—magenta, green, purple—flashed against the black night sky was captivating, to say the least. By the time that the final golden sparks fizzled, I was slack-jawed in awe. Kinilabutan ako.

Ever since I was a kid, I loved fireworks. There's just something about their transitory beauty that enchants me. Sometimes, the most beautiful things in this world are the most ephemeral. All we can do it savor the moments while we can.

I will forever continue to be in love with fireworks.
